Welcome to STEM-SMART, an online community dedicated to increasing the number of U.S. students, including females and minorities, in STEM (Science, Engineering, Technology and Mathematics) degree programs. We connect U.S. high school and college students with universities for successful college admissions and graduation and with businesses for mentoring, and meaningful work experiences.
We do this by:
- Offering free college and career counseling to U.S high school and college students seeking admission to STEM programs. We help students with the college admissions process and choosing the STEM major best suited to their career interests. In addition, we offer valuable information about scholarships and internships for high school college students.
- Partnering with U.S universities to engage and mentor students to be successful in college and to reach out to groups underrepresented in STEM programs including females and minorities. Colleges and universities become connected with aspiring STEM students who may be a match for their programs.
- Partnering with U.S. companies to educate and prepare U.S students for STEM careers through internships and other meaningful work experiences. Our corporate partners have a commitment to the advancement of STEM and to making STEM more accessible to women and minorities. These partners participate in our advising program and connect with entry-level talent by promoting internships and career opportunities.
